Each year Easter time inspires me to get busy and make
a cloth doll for
the occasion. For the past two years I have created Easter Bunnies. (Click
on the photographs to see an enlarged view.)
This
lovely rabbit sports an apron with embroidered flowers and holds a bouquet
in her right hand. I found the pattern in the Spring Country Project
Collection published by H&S Media in Northbrook, Illinois. (Sorry I
could not find a web site featuring the magazine.)
The rabbit to the left is a real lady all
decked out with
laced leather boots and an Easter bonnet. To find out how to create
leather-look boots click here.
The pattern comes from A
stitch in time.
Besides bunny rabbits, spring inspires me
to create cloth dolls bedecked with flowers or
wreaths.
This
lovely cloth doll also from A Stitch in
Time comes with a complete wardrobe including: bonnet, dress, pinafore,
bloomers and boots. She carries a grapevine wreath decorated with dried
flowers. Her realistic pigtails are made out of jute.
Here we have a cloth doll who has
just come from feeding the birds and picking an armful of flowers. Her curled wire
hair makes her somewhat unique. This pattern is available from Jennie n'
Co. 3196 Adelina Avenue., Norco CA 91760.
