I was born and raised in New York City.  I have a B.A. from Queens College in American history, a M.A.  from Hunter College in Anthropology and a second masters from Columbia University in Information and Library Science..

I moved to Greece with my husband and 9 month old baby over 26 years ago.  At the present my family consists of three sons 27, 25 and 22,  my husband, Yannis, and myself.

I have been interested in plants as long as I can remember.  In my apartment in New York, I set up a huge table with florescent lights and draped a sheet of plastic over it to mimic a greenhouse.  Now I have a real greenhouse and  spend much of my free time growing plants from seeds and puttering  around the garden.  Gardening in Greece has proved to be a challenge  because of the incredible length of the growing season, the constant high temperatures and  drying winds.  I have had to rethink what a garden should look like. No more extensive green lawns and thirsty plants. These have been replaced with hard paving and plants that adapt to summer drought conditions. I feel that much of what I have learned could be of use to fellow gardeners living under similar conditions.

Besides gardening I enjoy making cloth dolls.  It started with making dolls for my children.  I have branched out and now make dolls for my home, dolls for children at the local hospital and I have taught doll making at the local University in the past.

Cooking is something  that I  have to do everyday and enjoy doing on occasion.  I will post some of my favorite recipes.  Most of these will be Greek recipes that I have accumulated during the past 25 years while living in Greece.

Most recently I have published my web site. I hope you enjoy visiting it as much as I enjoy creating it.
